The body is a temple. A vessel. Pieces put together to be orchestrated as one. When the body gets an injury, it affects surrounding body parts eventually and if not taken care of in a timely manner or properly, affects the whole body. There are so many workouts and exercises that benefit specific areas externally and internally with the most simplistic movement that we likely do day in and out with little to no thought. So why not make every workout intentional for the full body.

Just as the body cannot function without the mind, same with one body part not able to function without another. Everything is pieced together to work-TO-GETHER.
To have proportion is required for everything to be balanced. Without the neck, the shoulders are not firm. Without the hips, the legs cannot be trained. Without the calves and the feet intertwining at the ankles what good are the abs then.

Everything in the body is a unit. It will benefit physically and spiritually. Internally you feel stronger and healthier. Suddenly washing dishes or giving the dog a bath isn’t so strenuous on the back anymore or sitting on a long car ride doesn’t strain the neck as much as it used to. To use the body as one in everything you do will overall make the everyday task much smoother.

Even when you are working the upper body, lower body, back, while these are “targeted” areas, don’t forget the inner parts being used such as lungs, heart, ovaries, kidneys, pancreas, to name a few, not to mention the brain, is being worked just as much as the one receiving the most attention. We often are so focused on wanting to alter and improve one area of the body that we neglect the others. The body needs each piece to be complete.

Disproportion can cause strain on the area that is not as strong as the one that was always focused on. Please keep in mind, what you can’t see is just as important. Just because you can’t see it let alone feel it as often, doesn’t mean it’s not there. Choosing to ignore the body’s needs and all its internal and external weaknesses and strengths will only cause problems later that likely could have been prevented.

Have steady balance to appreciate all the body functions. There is nothing wrong with working out the entire body all the time because whether we realize it or not, we are always doing full body exercises. Working the full body doesn’t always have to be strenuous and/or leaving you sore to make change. Sometimes, if not all, it really is the simple, slow and steady movements that have the most growth. So why not make it intentional because the Art of Full Body workouts is just the beginning.
